At Cork English College we believe that learning English should be a fun, engaging and worthwhile experience, something which all our junior programmes aim to provide. We have been welcoming young learners to Cork since 1978 and have over 45 years’ experience in combining expert English language classes with energetic and enjoyable activities.

The CEC Young Adult Programme is designed for international students aged between 16—19 who wish to prepare for Cambridge Exams with other learners of a similar age.

Minimum 4 week booking.

This course is for students who wish to:

  • Improve their English
  • Be part of an enjoyable enriching experience
  • Build their overall confidence in using English
  • Meet and make friends with students from around the world
  • Individuals or groups who want to enjoy an immersive Irish experience

Being part of our Young Adult Cambridge Exam Programme offers the opportunity to gain proficiency in English and prepare for the Cambridge exams while enjoying a broad range of fun activities with us in Cork!

The programme includes 4 hours of English language tuition and exam preparation per day during the morning, with an additional two afternoons of exam practice. Activities and excursions are scheduled on other days. This course is ideal for students who wish to bring their language and exam knowledge up to the level required for the exam. Students can sit the FCE or CAE exam at CEC at the end of their course as CEC is an official Cambridge testing centre.

We offer a range of different accommodation options for your stay in Cork. Choose an authentic Irish experience with one of our host families. Our team ensures all accommodation options are safe, secure and of the highest standards.

What accommodation options do you have?

For the accommodation, our junior students can stay with either a local host family or in one of our residential centres where they will be fully supervised with live-in leaders at all times.

What are the fees and what’s included?

The Junior programmes come in a package price including classes, activities, excursions, meals and accommodation. Feel free to visit our course price page or junior section for more.

Are the courses fully supervised?

Yes, all our junior courses are fully supervised at all times. Our junior students are taken to and from each activity and to their classes by our dedicated activity leaders and they are also supervised in their accommodation centres either by our live in residential staff or by their host family.

When do the courses normally take place?

Our dedicated Junior courses take place in the summer month of July. This can vary year to year so it’s best to contact us as soon as you decide you would like to book a course to receive the most up to date information. Our Mini-Stay programme courses run in the autumn and winter months and our High School programme runs in the academic year.
